Make It Look Real

5 Piece band live recording in Studio A. Drums, guitar, bass, piano and acoustic guitar. 2 vocals. Video shoot at the same time. Many people, some upset because of the lights, some upset (me) because some (assistants) have no common sense or any sense of iniciative whatsoever. No gobos allowed, no isolation, they kill the visuals. "We want it to feel like they are in the studio recording their album, make it look real", says the director. In-ear headphones, "don't use that mic, it doesn't look cool". In other words, nothing like a real recording. Lets keep shooting videos they way it has always been, fooling everybody. The land of make believe. Same goes for making records as far as I'm concerned.
